Diaries of a Scrum Mom - Lunch To Launch

The Scrum Framework

The Scrum framework is a simple, agile way to manage projects that helps teams work together to create high-quality products quickly. It is a playbook that teams use to work together more effectively. Instead of doing everything at once, Scrum breaks work into smaller parts called “sprints.” Every Scrum team must have a Scrum Master, a facilitator, an impediment remover, and mainly a servant leader to the team, guess what? Mothers do all of that.

Plan, Develop, Deliver

Let’s dive into work, Cooking LUNCH …

Plan… every product has a list of items that collectively make a releasable, usable, edible Product it is called a backlog of items. Every day preparing lunch starts with the backlog, what we have in the fridge, and what we need to buy to make our lunch ready, once all items are collected, we can start the next phase.

Develop… during the development phase we use inspection and adaptation which are crucial in the scrum, you taste food, make sure it is not too salty or needs more spice, and adapt to any necessary change.

Deliver… delivery time is estimated by the development team, and as my son always tells me “Mom your time estimation needs improvement ” Many factors affect your work, so make sure to keep all in mind when you estimate your delivery time, believe me, you don’t want hungry, angry kids around you.

Let’s do it again

“To create successful products, we need frequent feedback from the people that are using the product.” Exactly! We hear feedback from family members on the table “More salt, less sauce!” if you listen well to your Users and validate their feedback you can reach a high user satisfaction rate and a happy family.

Lunch, Laundry, and Beyond

For a mother every day is a sprint with multiple products to deliver, after all, I can’t wait to have the house clean, the family well-fed, and all asleep to have some quality time celebrating my success with a cup of coffee and a cookie!
